Mentimeter is a great Web2.0 tool for teaching. Create a poll in a matter of seconds, receive a log-in number and vote.
I used mentimeter to ask students what topic should we study next. This allows for a democratic class and decision lies with student majority.
Step 2: Voters log onto http://www.vot.rs and enter the voter ID number, which will bring them to the question asked.
You can decide if the voter gets one vote or multiple votes. I chose one vote per student on this particular question.
In this case, the majority of students voted to study controversial issues next.
Mentimeter can also help develop students’ research and analysis skills. Students can create a poll and discuss the findings of the outcome.
